Yes this was my first year making a turkey. As my mom would say, "It's the Bag!" (meaning baking the turkey in a bag is what makes all the difference). It went really well and the turkey took far less time to cook (and far less time to prepare) than anticipated. Everything turned out wonderfully. The only thing that could've made this great day better was more family but being so far away, we'll take what we can get.
And no Thanksgiving would be complete without expressing our gratitude. We are definitely thankful for our families, for the gospel in our lives, and wonderful friends near or far. And this is for my dad--I am thankful for Squanto without whom we may not have Thanksgiving at all. :) Hope everyone had as great a day as we did! :)
Grandma Young was so happy to meet her first grandson. Isn't he cute? I know, I'm partial.
The big feast!
Andrew ready to begin the challenge of cleaning his plate!

Hey Andrew and Erika!
It was so good to see you when you were in Salt Lake. Looks like you had a great Thanksgiving, too. Here is the pumpkin roll recipe that I promised to give and it's really late . .. and will probably be the longest comment Ever . .
Pumpkin Cake Roll
Beat at high speed 3 eggs for 5 minutes gradually adding 1 cup of sugar. Stir in 2/3 cup pumpkin and 1 tsp lemon juice.
Sift and fold into pumpkin ¾ cup flour, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp nutmeg, 2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp ginger.
Spread on greased and floured jelly roll pan. (your long cookie sheet) OR you can line the cookie sheet with waxed paper and sprinkle with powdered sugar—just a little.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
Gently ease around the cake with a pancake turner and then dump gently on towel sprinkled with powdered sugar.
Roll with towel like jelly roll and allow to cool. Unroll when cool.
Fill with the following mixture:
1 cup powdered sugar, 8 oz cream cheese, 4 T. margarine or butter, ½ tsp vanilla.
Roll up again without the towel and lightly dust top with powdered sugar.
Refrigerate!
OR wrap in tin foil and put in freezer until needed.
Enjoy!
