Keegan & Santa

This year I hoped Keegan would like Santa a little more than he did last year...and I guess he does because he doesn't burst into tears immediately. He usually just points the other direction when Santa is near and says very urgently,"I go that way! I go that way!". In November we saw Santa at Kroger--not a success. Then we went to a special Christmas themed storytime at the library with Santa. We did not stand in the line to see Santa for fear it would not go well. I just got close to Santa and Keegan wanted to turn tail immediately. On Monday we went to the Cincinnati Museum Center to see their holiday train display and of course Santa made an appearance. Keegan would have nothing to do with Santa's lap.

For Keegan though, fourth time is the charm. On Tuesday we went to Entertrainment Junction (a children's train play place) and he finally sat on Santa's lap all by himself. Mrs. Claus did give him a cookie just prior to seeing Santa so that may have buttered Keegan up a bit. Plus his two little friends we were with sat happily on Santa's lap before him so that may have helped as well. In any case--we have a our annual photo with Keegan on Santa's lap. And he actually smiled this year! :)

Merry Christmas!

P.S. When Keegan starts getting old enough to wonder why there are so many different Santas, what do I tell him?? :)

You know that's something every parent has to deal with in their parental career. If every problem were that small, it would be a snap of a job.

every santa, is a santa "helper". we saw 3 this year. when the kids really get it, they also understand that he's a busy busy guy with christmas coming. we just tell them that he has helpers and they relay to him what they ask for and to make sure they're on the good list. :) the joys of motherhood. its so fun to see them get this excited!!! and thanks for your comment!
