Keegan's birthday started out with a surprise doughnut trip with Daddy. Keegan loves doughnuts so it was a welcome surprise!
This year for his birthday, Keegan requested a Harry Potter Party. We tried our best to get him to agree to missing a day of school and going to Great Wolf Lodge. But even despite our best attempts, he would not be swayed. So we asked him what kind of party he would like and he decided it would be a Harry Potter Party. Who knew, right? I spent hours searching Pinterest and creating the small little details that would become his party. Overall I think it was a great success and the kids all had a great time.
Here's how the invitations turned out
It all started with the wands...chopsticks, hot glue, and paint with a little sealant spray.
He insisted on a pinata...we called it Hogwarts castle.
No party would be complete without the 9 3/4 platform entrance...I forgot to take a picture of this on the front door but it turned out sooo cute.
Have you Seen this Wizard? picture spot
Tanner had to get in on the action
And so did Makayla
Treat bags for all the goodies to go home with
The Cake! The Monster Book of Monsters
Ollivander's Wand Shop
A few goodies for the goody bag
Potion's Class in mini cauldrons with Ground Unicorn Horn (baking soda) and Dragon Tears (vinegar) and a little food coloring for fun
Opening presents time! Probably his favorite part of the whole night!
A lunch visit from Mommy & Makayla!
And even more special, Grammie & Grandpa too!
At the end of it all, he was one happy dude!
At school on his birthday they were also having the Apex Fun Run fundraiser for his school. He was pretty excited to have it announced that it was his birthday while running for the fundraiser. Grammie & Grandpa stayed after lunch to cheer both Keegan and Tanner on during their run. Grammie got very into it and was a great cheerleader. :)
Apex Fun Run Excitement!
Tanner didn't know we were coming and was very surprised and excited!
Look at Keegan go! He ran 49 laps (16 laps is a mile so just over 3 miles)
And there's the Tan Man!
It was a great 8th birthday for Keegan. Hopefully the 9th can live up to this hype!! :)
